Unsupported audio buffer error.
Hello all,
I'm getting an error "Your audio device is configured with an unsupported audio buffer size yadda yadda...". Part of what's happening is that it isn't loading with my Apollo Twin selected which does support the selected buffer size... Normally, I would hold the "N" key while starting PT and simply select the correct hardware from the Playback Engine window, but this no longer the case as nothing happens when I press the "N" key. Yes, I've many variations such as holding n before I click PT, after, spamming the N key, nothing I do will load the Playback Engine window. Is there another way to bring this up? After hours of looking, I can't find any solutions to this. I really wish Avid would make a separate executable to adjust hardware/playback options before starting PT. Anyway, I'd appreciate any assistance, thanks! Last edited by Firewalker; 12-17-2017 at 11:39 PM. |

Re: Unsupported audio buffer error.
Is Windows using the Apollo as its default playback device? If it IS, change that so Windows uses the on-board sound card(this avoids hardware conflicts where Windows locks the sample rate so Pro Tools cannot change it)

Re: Unsupported audio buffer error.
I've tried that but the key issue here is that holding the N key does not bring up the Playback Engine window like it used to, if it did then I could make the appropriate adjustments to get it working.

Re: Unsupported audio buffer error.
Does the Apollo include a driver that will let you change the buffer before opening Pro Tools? Many third-party drivers have a separate control panel. I've never used an Apollo, so I don't know, but if it does, change the buffer before launching PT.

Re: Unsupported audio buffer error. -Solved-
I have a presonus firebox attached to the system that I simply use as my main sound card when not recording with the apollo, turns out the PT hates it, so I unplugged it from the system and PT finally loaded and I was able to change the proper settings in the menu. After the settings saved, I was able to plug the firebox back in and everything works as it's supposed to now, other than the main issue with the N key not bringing up the playback engine which I reported as a bug.
Thanks for the suggestions. |
