Default syncing external drum machine

Greetings,
I'm trying to record midi tracks from a Zoom drum machine into pro tools 5.2 and can't figure out how to get PT to be the slave to the drum machine. I've searched the forum and didn't find anything relevant.
Thanks,
Marty

You need to slave your zoom to PT. Just make sure you OMS is setup, that you have your zoom in that OMS setup, make sure your midi in's and out's are connected properly. Then you need enable Midi Beat Clock in Protools, you should be good to go. When you hit play in prtools you zoom should start playback in sync. Hope that helps

BTW you might need to set your drum machine to extrenal sync mode or something, "Local Control" check your zooms manual about sync to an external sequencer (PT's) Cool?

Hi I had my roland r8 working synced in pt 11 w/7 & all of a sudden it began to change temo. where in pt 11 is the correct place to set the tempo. If I want to chose from 3 virtual rythim machines & 2 or 3 external i just change midi channels but temp is erratic. thanks have a good #1
