PT 5 loses avi's on mac

for some reason
when I use an avi with PT 5
next time I open the session it can't find it
if I manually find it when PT asks on load up of the session it craps out the load

Otherwise avi's work fine and our art dept prefers to deliver them from there maya infested pc's

any thoughts? am I missing something?

If I were you I would open the AVI in QT and then save the movie allowing dependencies. Then use the QT version in PT. PT should like that much better and your MAYA PC dept. doesn't have to change anything.

that's a pain because we deal with hundreds of short animations - sub 5 sec

seems to me that it is a fairly minor issue for pt as pt already use qt for playback and qt can deal with many file types

anyway I never had this problem with Digital Performer, of course there I get half ass dae support
