Default Shortcut- \"timeline insertion follows playback\"?

Hi guys,

what is the shortcut for "timeline insertion follows playback"?

I tend to inadvertently turn it on when working/typing really fast sometimes. i am in command focus mode in the edit window.

can't find it in the shortcut list.

thanks!

It's "Cmd"+"/". If you have command focus mode on, and you hit the "n" key that will toggle the state of the transport from either returning to the timeline insertion after stopping...or moving the timeline insertion to where the playhead was at the time of stopping. It's the difference between working like protools (when you stop, it will start from the same spot) and working like a tape deck (when you stop, it will start from where you stopped).

Cmd+/ will toggle timeline follows insertion. This means that with it disabled, your playhead can start from anywhere regardless of your selection in the edit window and as you change selections your playhead does not follow what you have selected.

maybe I have the names of the two reversed...if Timeline follows playback is N, then what's Cmd+/ called?

I think you're referring to shift + /, which is "link edit/timeline selection". That's the little icon to the right of the command focus button.
