Default Can some explain the blinking play button

1 Thing that happens sometimes.Without changing anything

When I press play, the Play button blinks and the stop button gets complette blue for some seconds. After that nothing happens

So I can not start play back.

What's the trick?

If you’re on Windows in particular (you didn’t specify) it’s all too easy to hit the spacebar & alt button and put it in “online” mode so it’s looking for an external sync source. Alt-space again takes it out of online mode. I only did this about 37 times a day….

Whenever this happens for me, I close PT and re-open and things work. Not sure of the cause, but I rarely need to restart more than once when it does happen(and I haven't seen this issue in many months)

Same. I hit this shortcut more times than I'd admit.

No, I don't think this is my problem. when toggling with enable/disable online playback (option+space or com+j on Mac) the left sync button in the transport bar blinks. but in my case only the the stop button gets blue und the playback button blinks when I press the spacebar, and in this situation pressing the "enable/disable online playback" short cut don't help. there is no chance to get the session playing. Only if I reopen the session. But all editing works. (No crash)

this happens f.e. sometimes after a offline bounce without changing anything.

if its the issue I see occasionally that presents like this then it is a bug.

I go to playback engine and change the buffer size. it should work again after that if it is the issue I have seen come up occasionally here
