Default What\'s using more HD space?

i have PT 001 LE, Mac G4. i wonder which is using more/less space and CPU power. is it better to leave audio regions separate on a track or consolidate them all into one larger file? thanks.

It all takes the same space one way or another. But you have an easier load on the computer when you are playing back. Its also good housekeeping for a session to have things consolidated.

will keep it in mind. what about regions that are in your audio reqions list? what i like to do is consolidate many into one file, but retain the originals 'just in case'. do audio regions take up more room if (1)used in a track or (2)simply stored in the session for possible future reference? thanks!

well, consolidate once you got the tracks edited and arranged and maybe even effected like you want. Then the complete and consolidated tracks can be viewed as if they were tracks on a tape that had been running from start to finish.

You can delete all the unused playlists once you know you have a session with only the tracks you need.

If thats all you need from the audio regions, go ahead and clear or delete all the stuff you don't need. It may not be a bad idea to save to DVD a copy of the sloppy session and unconsolidated audio bits so you have it, but if you don't deem that necessary, dump all the other stuff and claim the HD space back, and clean up.
