Default Pro Tools playback engine is being stubborn

I just set up Pro Tools on my Bootcamp Mac Pro (running windows 10) and everything was working great until I tried to playback audio, to which I found the audio was coming out of my internal speakers.

So, of course I went into playback engine and tried to change it to my Komplete Audio 6 interface output (the same as windows has been using without any troubles).
Three really weird things happened.
1) First of all KA6 output isn't an option there, although it is on the windows playback devices.
2) Now when I change the PT output device to anything else and restart, it swaps back to the original (internal speaker) output device.
3) Lastly, even when I plug my headphones into the computers headphone port I still only hear it coming from the internal speaker.

If you guys have any suggestions that would be greatly appreciated!

Launch PT with the N key held down and choose your interface when popup window appears, then you should be all set if your system is healthy otherwise.

Yeah thanks I tried that and got audio to my headphones, but I can't seem to re-route it to my audio interface.
However, I just realized I didn't install ASIO4ALL, so that may be my problem...

Asio4all doesnt work on macOS so start PT goto settings then i/o and press default on all tabs like in out aux on both input and output pages and see if that helps.

You can use the internal soundcard as Macs have their own core audio so no need for anything like asio4all which is made for windows OS.

what OS are you running under? And what interface drivers did you install? You need to install drivers on both Windows and macOS is you want an interface to work from both. If you are running under Windows/Bootcamp on the Mac and normally need to install ASIO4ALL then you need to install it under Windows on the Mac as well.

... but KA6 comers with an ASIO driver so you should not be using ASIO4ALL... what version of the KA6 driver did you install? What does Windows device manager show for that interface...

Thanks, southsidemusic, good thing I didn't jump into installing it!
I guess my IO wasn't installed as default, because that fixed it lol.

Ah yep I didn't install KA6 drivers because it was automatically working everywhere else when I installed windows. Just installed it and everythings working great again!

Thanks for the support fellas.

And please, DO NOT use the K6 for Windows sounds/audio, use the internal soundcard for that. Leave the K6 for Pro Tools only.
