Default Missing audio files randomly......

Ok, so as of late, I've opened a few sessions and it'll tell me I'm missing 1 audio file. It's generally been a file that wasn't being used and I blew it off. The I recently found a folder with a session name on it on my main hard drive and it had six or so random files in it from the session. I put them back in the audio file and checked my disk allocation and it was set to my pro tools hard drive. Had me scratching my head, but no big deal. Today, I had a band from out of town in. We finished tracking guitars last night. Today, I opened the sessions and one song said 1 file was missing. I look and about four punch ins are missing on one mic on my guitar tracks. Pulled the backup off of one of my externals and same thing. I've searched every hard drive on the computer and there's actually about five files missing from the session even though it says one and none of them appear to be anywhere. I'm totally confused and wonder what I should do to make this stop happening.

Ok, now every other session I'm opening has a file like this and then an entire Hammond Organ track disappeared. I couldn't find the files in the Audio File folder in the session. They weren't in the session backups or anywhere on the pro tools drive. I had to search on my main drive and searched for Hammond Organ. A random file came up and it said it was on the pro tools drive. On a whim, I imported it into the song and it was the file and I manually lined it up to the track. Thankfully, since the Hammond Organ player lives an hour and a half away. IS there some kind of house cleaning I can do to make this work better, or is this just a workaround? I don't really understand quite what's going on.

Pro Tools can occasionally write audio files that are missing their FMT chunk, which makes them unreadable by Pro Tools.

What the F**k????????????????? Pro Tools has been around for what? Nearly 20 years? And they still can't get it to do the fundamentals correctly??

God it makes me so f**king angry.

(Sorry Ryan, just had to sound off)
