Default PT12(HD) Users Thread

Okay so with all the "WTF is PT12?"-type of threads (incl. but not limited to This should be the future of PT, Mind made up, What is really behind this change, Anyone sign for the 599 upgrade, etc. etc, I would like to start a new thread purely focused on the (potential) problems that ONLY PT12.0.0(HD) have/will experience.

Rule#1: please no ranting of the pi**ed off (and left out) previous PT(HD) version users.
Rule#2: obvious opposite of rule 1; only those that have and use PT12.0.0(HD) posts allowed
Rule #3: I bet my *** that the previous two rules will be violated by at least one wise guy. I aks the moderators to delete any such posts as they are counterproductive to this thread.

My observation so far: PT12(HD) has been incredibly stable on my main Mac system. Whether I opened sessions created in PT11HD or started new sessions PT12HD has not crashed one single time. For the record I use VIs a lot, mainly Play, Kontakt and Superior Drummer. I also use other, but these are my main, go-to libraries.

So I am interested to hear what errors or issues you have encountered.

Are on topic questions by 11HD users allowed?

If so I'd like to ask, if you had specific stability issues in 11 that are now gone? I.e. is 12 an improvement for you, or more or less the same?

I'm not a HD user, just like to say good to see constructive post popping up. Lots of us have said our negative part about Avid the last days. Maybe time to switch focus..

I like to know too, since there is no "Issues Resolved" section in the Read Me for PT12.

Oblivion777 I see that you are using a MBPR. Did Avid fix all the graphical issues in PT12?
Issues like resizing edit/mix windows and lagging playhead in both edit window and midi window and lag when edit window is on top of mix window vice versa.

12 HD is rocking here. It's even more stable than 11. I/O improvements are maybe the most important things happened in PT land since 8.

These days plugin companies are releasing updates that follows "enhancements under the hood" in 12. Softube, Waves, UA, Toontrack, IKM, to name a few. Just be patient to dig around.

The most important thing: judge about 12 (HD) after your own experience rather than Russ' and other similar bloggers said.

I for one experienced better performance and stability immediately after upgrading to PT12.0.0 even though I didn't update any plugin.

Things look very promising and the last time (IMO) snappiness like this was the norm, I was using PT8.1.1 on OSX10.6.8 (and that is one of the golden combos)

Today I upgrade my HD system and loaded up an 11 session with a lot of VI's. This session was a pita in 11 and crashed a lot. I added 5-6 more VI's, trying to get it to crash. I couldn't...
