Default Sonic Solutions 888

Someone just gave me a Sonic Solutions 888 d/a a/d converter. Does anyone know if this would work with PT and if it is 16 or 24 bit?

Thanks in advance!

One more thing, do you think I could fry my system if I hook it up just to try it?

I don't believe Sonic Solutions made a piece called the 888. They did make an 8 channel analog I/O for their mastering DAW. It is 24 bit, 48K, but depending on which one you have, it probably doesn't sound great and you probably need a Sonic Solutions DAW for it to work. They connected up to the DSP cards via a proprietary SCSI connection. Talk about a finicky system...

Perhaps you have a beige AVID 888

That is the same as a Digidesign 888 and fully interchangable.
