Default Reason 2.5 vs. digi001 & core audio

My goal is to use a Radium keyboard w/Reason 2.5 and record the output in PTLE 6.01. If I start Reason first (I'm using the 2.5 demo version), and select digi001 as the sound output, I get sound output through the 001. If I then attempt to start PT it fails with a DAE error. If I reverse the start order PT is happy, but reason starts with an audio driver error or just says there's no audio in the preferences (can't find the digi001 HW anymore). So am I right in suspecting this is a core audio issue? I'm using 1.2. Going a little deeper is it a core audio midi issue? I know there were issues with 6.01CS installer. Any help received will bring the supplier much karmic merit.
Thanks, SB

Slim, Thanks. I knew about Rewire, but unfortunately OS 9 is long gone. So in the OS X world of core audio is there no way an app like Reason can work directly with PT Le 6.0.1? I want to add synth/drum tracks to works in progress. What am I missing? Do I have to buy additional HW to get back OS 9 functionality? Or hope the Propeller Head folks code an RTAS version of Reason? Thanks again.

I too am waiting for this option.
Digidesign is suppose to be fixing this.
Or was I dreaming that?

Protools 6.1 will have Rewire support, so it's only a matter of time.

Only one piece of software can access the digidesign hardware at any given time - in other words, you can't have both Reason and Protools open and both trying to access the 001, Reason needs to be set to use either your mac's sound output or another sound card.

It is possible to connect the 2 softwares using Rewire under OS9 - do a search for Reason on this forum and you'll find tons of info on how to do this.

Doh! Careful of misinformation...

ReWire has never been a solution for using Reason and PT on the same machine on any operating system, simply because PT has never supported ReWire. Digi announced that PT 6.1 will, though, so we have that to look forward to.

If you want to record Reason's output into PT, you'll have to use two different sound cards. For instance, use the 001 for PT and you Mac's on-board audio output for Reason. Then you can take a 1/8" stereo to l/r 1/4" cable and plug your Mac's output right into the 001.

That's usually the way it's done....

You can stream Reason tracks into protools with a software called ReFuse works just like rewire but unfortunately it only works on os9

Silverlode, Thanks. I will try your suggestion. That sounds like the best 'workaround' till rewire support is available.
