SCSI speed help?
OK, sorry if this is a stupid question, but for the life of me I can't find the answer to this anywhere.
I have an old school adaptec card, don't even remember the product #, but it is SCSI 2 (20mbs). Can I attach a newer SCSI drive to this card - i.e. one that is capable of 40mbs or faster? I'm not expecting transfers over 20mbs, just wondering if the two will get along. Don't know the chain of command in this situation... Thanks for any help, ------------------ Slim |

Re: SCSI speed help?
Yes, you can.
SCSI is backwards compatible, so your old card will work with your new drive. The drive and card negotiate the fastest speed they have in common. ------------------ --Steve Rosenthal, Digidesign ETS
