Default Re: Minimal MLCD CDR Controller?

I tried the miles u/w and plexiwriter 820. No cigar. Even tried two different firmware versions (plexi 1.03 & 1.06).

Then the adaptec 2930u. It seemed to work fine. However you cannot leave a blank CDR in the caddy with toast cd reader (4.0). Will not boot. Intermittant problems with the mac not booting off the ATA drive with plexiwriter attached and powered-off, and occassionally with it powered-on. Oh yeah. Yosemite 400,001, and 8.6

Well. No sooner do you open the mouth... a foot appears to fill the space.

Seconds after this post: A reply from Initio:

"The current firmware for the Miles adapter is version 1.13. This version
works on all PCI based Macintosh machines.

There are no known issues with the Plextor CDRWs and we use them here.
You should be using the Plextor to terminate the cable to make sure the
termination is correct."

Have a good day!

My experience shows the Miles card not working correctly with the Plexiwriter. Blank screen boot whenever it is SCSI'd. Period. I am going to try to get a new bios chip in the Miles card. Hope this helps.
