CIDAEMON.exe and XP Hard drive indexing question
I have been having sluggish proformance on my 3.2 gig P4 DELL 512mb ext firewire dr...internal 7200 80 gig and internal SATA 120gig setup with MBOX. I have been browsing running applications (ctrl-alt del)
and kept seeing CIDAEMON.exe running when I would get an interupt. I did some research and found that this is a XP prog that indexes the hard drives for faster file searching. It is, according to research, a real resource hog. So I have gone to device manager and turned off indexing on all my disks. My system seems to be running smoother. Anyone know anything else about this prog and if I am doing anything that could cause future problems by turning off indexing? Thanks Bryan

Re: CIDAEMON.exe and XP Hard drive indexing questi
Just thought I'd add one more small request...is there a list of XP optimal background applications for
Prootools. I guess I mean what are the essential background apps as far as XP is concerned. Sorry for the off topic. bb
