Protools 12 and Digi 003 Issues

I am running through a problem with the midi instruments track. Whenever I pick an instrument, lets say serum. I press the rewind button or play or something and a very deep tone from the current preset plays very very loud. This also happens when i press mute and unmute. It seems like the buttons on the console are being used as keyboard midi buttons.

Runing 12.7.1 here with 003 perfect !

Ok first time i heard that .

Can the unit be set to vegas mode ?

Try trashing databases and preferences and check your sound playback devices too .

Alright well..... I don't how to do any of those. Can you help on that?

Of course ...

Vegas Mode

Vegas mode randomly lights every switch, meter and display on the unit, and runs the faders in sine wave mode.

To enter Vegas mode:

Enter Utility mode. If the Utility switch is not enabled (flashing), press it.

Select the Test menu by pressing the flashing Insert switch.

The LCD shows the first page of Utility tests.

Start "Vegas" mode by pressing the flashing Page Right switch.

To exit the test at anytime, press any switch

This just to see if the unit is working right .


Trashing databases and preferences you can use a free utility that do that for you .

Ans last check in Protools menu Hardware Playback devices and check what do you see there .

When I had my 003, if I used the Legacy FW driver(which avid recommends on Windows systems), the entire 003 surface would "play" sounds if I had EZdrummer in the session. Changing to the TI Compliant driver solved it for me
