Has anybody heard if there will be a 003+ like the rack with 8 mic pres etc??

Honestly, I wouldn't even want it.

The 003R+ sounds like it's been a bit of a disappointment. As nice as having 8 pres is, it seems there is no way to bypass them, unless you go all digital... so you can't do a true analog direct line in. The 003R+ also doesn't save any of the settings upon power down, which has been an annoyance to some.

I like my 003R, because of it's overall versatility, and my mixing board has ADAT out... so I can get 12 pres going, which is all I've ever needed.

I remember somewhere that it was stated that is was not going to be done due to space limitations. Not just internally but also in terms of the real estate on the back of the control surface. I could be wrong.

I think I remember the same thing. There's nothing wrong with the 003 as it is(I love mine) and its easy to add preamps to it(and get more "flavors" in the process). I run a Focusrite ISA428 into 5 thru 8 and a Presonus D8 on the lightpipe input.
