People...! Why woudn't you want the "option" to 20 Inserts? or 20 Sends? (the option)

You don't need to use them if you don't want to, but the "option" should be there. What's the harm? Give people the option.

I mean, really, we don't need to act like fan-boys here, Avid isn't always right.
I just feel that since I paid $600 for the uppgrade plan, I should at least have the "option" to do more.

What's the harm in it? Why not have more options?

IMHO, Avid has more pressing matters regarding software features/bug fixes than adding 20 inserts per track. But if it gets voted up, folks must want it.

Not questioning anyone's workflow but I'm curious as to an example of 20 plugins being used on one track.

I'd have to agree with the majority that less is more when it comes to inserts & sends, (& that there's perhaps more pressing needs in PT)...

Having said that, there's nothing wrong with experimentation... With the likes of Soundtoys Rack, Slate rack, McDSP rack etc, you can stack up plugins to your hearts content. (I've got some interesting FX with multiple instances of Soundtoys rack). Might be worth considering if you're short on inserts anyway!

Why not avail yourself of the options that people have talked about here? Like feeding one track into another if you think you need 20 plugins or more on a track. You already have the option - you just need to make use of it.

If you need 20 plugins on one track you are either doing something wrong or the singer or musician you recorded needs to redo what they did. And indeed - Avid has several outstanding bugs that have been known for years that haven't been fixed.

I don't apologize but think that 5 should do it and now that we have 10 it is plenty. If it doesn't get the job done the fault is somewhere else than insert count

it's also quite possible to assign a single SEND and then create multiple AUX return faders with different effects on them, but all receiving that same SEND.

what I frankly cannot see a need for, is to have 20 different SEND levels from a single track.
