Question about downloads/purchases for PTLE 7.4 and hardware

I downloaded the free version of 7.4 for Mac OSX from Digidesign but will I be eligible to purchase upgrades? Or do I need to actually purchase a new copy of Protools 7.4 (I see them for sale on ebay)? Also- I need to register my 002- didn't realize there had to be paperwork regarding transfer of ownership- so where do I go from here? Call Digidesign? Just purchased it from ebay in February- had the power harness issue so I paid the $20 bucks for it and changed it myself. Dude said nothing about paperwork- I'm curious as to if he even went through the process.

You don't need any version of PT to buy the latest. PT8 is a full installer(and you would uninstall any previous version). As for registering the 002, a transfer of registration/ownership(check out the first thread in the buy/sell section) would allow you to maybe get free harness/PSU repairs, but otherwise has little value. If you have harness issues in the future, re-seating each connection 5-6 times will often get it working again at no cost at all.
