Using Garage Band with Pro Tools?

I'm new to MIDI use and have been trying to figure out if it's possible to use Garage Band samples directly into a PT session. The documentation with Garage Band is marginal at best. Is it possible to have GB and PT both open and record a live MDI track into PT with my keyboard controller accessing the piano sample from GB, for instance? Any help, guidance or referral to web info much appreciated!
