Allen,

How is the ÜBERSTEIN project coming along?

RP
Very slow. I've been investing in new equipment for the hospital this month. How does a $47k ultrasound machine with color flow doppler sound? LOL
I'm a little concerned with the performance of the A8V motherboard at this point and may be looking at the newer motherboards that were just released. Asus is a little slow to develop a motherboard around the new chipset. The K8V will not handle the newer processors, but is a golden performer here with PTLE so far.

TO ALLEN HALLADA: Do you use the 64 bits or 32 bits Windows XP-PRO version???.

I need to buy a new PC, I have a P4 @ 2.0ghz with 512mb and Intel 850E MOBO and I only get 21 track in the DaveC Test. I'm waiting for Digidesign two month for the compatility with the new 9x Intel chipset to buy a new machine... I am very tired to expect. Please, I need to know your experience with your AMD System, any kind of problem when you do...., the power with your LE system in a real situation.... everything you can say me!!!

Other question, about the Opteron systems for LE??? someone test it???

Thanks a lot for your support and help and sorry for my english, it's terrible !!
I still use Win XP 32 bit version. Don't think the 64 bit version will even work with PTLE but it may be backward compatible.
Allen

Did I miss something or is this reply "overly-bitter?" Everybody here is on a volunteer basis as far as I know and furthermore it does seem that Allen replied to you plenty of times. He has a life too y'know!

Default Re: which pci slot for 001

For any of you still using a 001:

And If you have the asus K8V SE deluxe mobo like Allen specs,

Which PCI slot are you putting the pci card in? There is a table in the asus manual about irq sharing but It is a bit confusing.

Thanks,

Happy seasonal holiday of your choice,

I'm considering a G5 dual 1.8. or a PC. I'm currently running a G4 Ibook 1.3 with 512M RAM and a Lacie FW drive w/002R PTLE 6.7. Great and reliable for location recording. Now I need a powerful workstation. Anyone out there running mac and pc for PTLE? How does this look for a PC?

AMD Athlon 64 4000+ w/ 1MB Cache
Asus A8V Deluxe
1024MB TwinX PC3200
Antec Sonata w/ TruePower 380W
Maxtor 120GB DiamondMax Plus 9 7200rpm Serial ATA 8MB Cache x 2
Ati All-In-Wonder Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB
Microsoft Windows XP Pro SP2 Velocity

Thanks

Ryan

I'm not sure what part of this reply the guy didn't understand.
