Hey man, I understand you made this for PT11 but I'm having an issue with Pro Tools First, I tried your software but it didn't work.

When I launch PTF, the splash screen pops up with "Signing into your Avid account" and nothing happens. I've tried loads of different solutions and still nothing. I was wondering if you have one to fix PTF as I need for college work.

If not, do you think you might be able to help resolve it?

Hi,
I didn't write it specifically for PT11, just to clear out commonly problematic preferences/caches etc. Unfortunately it's just a simple utility and that's all it does, it doesn't patch/fix any Pro Tools bugs or anything like that and is far from guaranteed to sort all Pro Tools issues. It should clear preferences fine for Pro Tools first. I'm afraid I've no idea what's causing your problem, if you post in the Pro Tools First section of the forum somebody may be able to help.

Good luck,
Pete

1.6.12 up

Tiny tidy ups, no need to update from 1.6.11 if not wanted

Thanks Peter!

Do you have some documentation for this app?

For me the Eucon prefs doesn't seem to be backed up.
Also, the "Last Used.pio" and "Pro Tools_HDX.pio" doesn't get copied.

What preferences are saved in session files vs prefs files?

Hi,
No, I'm afraid there's no documentation. One of the reasons I stopped doing software years ago was that I find doing documentation very boring! If anyone wants to offer to help with that I'm up for it - there's no money involved, no fame, so a tempting prospect!

I'll look at the Eucon stuff, I don't use Eucon, I'm on a steam powered D-Control still. I'll look at the I/O settings too.

Can't answer quickly on what's stored in prefs/session files, it's quite involved.

Cheers,
Pete

Just to ask:
recently I got a tip from Avid support team to troubleshoot 12.4HD crashes by deleting a folder I didn't even know it exist: HD/Users/Home/Library/Preferences/Avid/ProTools
It apparently helped me get rid of problem so
was wondering will PT prefs be updated to delete this folder as well. Thanks a lot!

Already does, in more detail too. Deletes Preferences, Pro Tools plist and AAE preferences as three separate/selectable sections.
