Default Best WordClock setup?

HI! I´ll be using an aardvark aardsyncII to generate the WC for:
1x clk ---> Sony DMX-R100
1x clk ---> Cranesong HEDD192
256x clk ---> 888 I/O
256x clk ---> 888 I/O

As the aardsync has only 4 wc outs and I have another 888 I/O to connect..... is it ok to daisy chain the, let´s say, 2nd. 888 wc out to the remaining 888??? I know that the ideal setup is having 1 WC out to each device, but I´m out of the budget and can afford to buy a aardvark SyncDA.
So, will the third 888, with very short and premium quality (apogee) bnc cables, sound THAT different from the others?????
Thanks in advance.

I'm assuming that you mean the digi superclock (256x wordclock) out of the second 888 in to the superclock in of the remaining. Yes, you can do that. That's why they have ins and outs - so you can daisy chain them.

Yep already knew that, but AFAIK "experts" don't recommend this. My question is, will the third 888 sound THAT different from the others??? I guess that it can't be that bad....
THANKS!

I have a similar situation, except I've got 6 888/24's. I was thinking about getting some kind of distribution amp to send the 256X word clock to all the 888's individually. First off.... Is a special kind of DA needed for the 256X clock? And how important is cable length between those individual runs of 256X clock? If you consider that the distance wordclock had to travel is different for each 888/24 in a standard Loop-Through setup, at what point does length of cable affect, well, anything?

Its not that it will sound worse per se, its that you could potentially experience some propagation delay on the daisy chained 888 vs the rest of the system. this could result in some clicks and pops coming from the daisy chained unit. I doubt it will be severe enough to worry about being it is only a one unit chain. also the 888s are usually very forgiving in this regard.

Obviously the ideal way to clock a system is to sync everything directly to the master clock. There are clocks out there with more WC outputs if you are so inclined such as Apogee's Big Ben. The other option is to get a distribution amp. But like I said, for one 888, it hardly seems necessary.

OK. THANKS!
Another question....
As I told I'll be using aardsyncII, but maybe I still can change my order.... Is BigBen better than the aardsync???
Thanks again.

eledu,
Please consider most of my remarks here opinion rather than science.

I see no problem with looping wordclock thru equipment as long as you don't over do it.
My setup using an aardsync with 4 outputs goes basically to groups of equipment.
ie. 1-888 I/Os (3 looped thru)
2-DA98HRs (2 looped thru)
3-synchroniser (MOTU)
4-Encoders (DD,DTS,DDE) etc...
This is really just a matter of taste.
Also note that if your room is set up D-D on your equipment all of it will clock to the Digital I/O anyway - making the wordclock somewhat extranious. Basically, if you clock your source everything in line digitally will be clocked to that source anyway.

Just some thoughts,
BMann
