Default Mac Stationary Pad Acting Strange

Has anyone noticed a problem with stationary pad in OSX 10.8.x or above. When I go to use the stationary pad feature it starts out working fine until I try to edit the session that I am using as a stationary pad. As soon as I edit the session (not create a new session), the next time I try to open that session I don't get the two choices, "Edit Session" or "Create New Session", it just opens like a normal PT session. When I go back to see the status of the checkbox for stationary pad (Command + I), it has unchecked itself. Why is it doing that? I have never had this issue with previous OSX versions (10.6.x, etc.) or other Pro Tools versions. I am running PT 11.2.1 and OSX 10.8.5. Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Hey John. No I don't lock the session template. I never had to do that before. Have you experienced this problem before and is this what you did to correct it? Wouldn't locking the stationary pad keep me from even accessing it.
