Default Need FX

Hi,

I'm sort of new to Protools, or digital recording for that matter. I have Protools LE, mBox, on Mac OSX. I'm looking for a way to process audio tracks with unusual FX. For example, say I lay down an audio drum track. Then I want to put an effect on that track. I know I can use d-Verb or Flanger, but I'd love to try some FX that are more extreme. Say I want those drums to sound like a grinding machine or something.

Can anyone recommend any 3rd party FX that can do this sort of thing?

I have a bunch of synthesizers -- Absynth2, FM7, Plex, but as far as I can see, there's not a way to process sounds thru these synths. Please explain if I'm wrong.

Thanks a million

Hi Metrov, I tried to post before, but it never went through. So a quick recap in list format:
1. Browse the 3rd party developers section on this site.
2. Even "Normal" plugs can do unexpected things.
3. Try looking at the Waves Pro-FX bundle, in particular Enigma (also check out Soundtoys, Pluggo (Cycling 74), Hopefully others will chime in with even more specifics...
4. Don't be afraid to download the demos and try 'em out! Good luck!

I checked out the above-suggested plugins, and they're either too expensive, or not what I'm looking for. Does anyone else have any ideas about how I distort and otherwise manipulate audio tracks beyond the normal reverb, flanger, etc?

Thanks
