Default HEAT vs Phoenix plug...... reason to switch?

I already own Phoenix, and use it across my stems, master buss, and some individual tracks when necessary.

Any reason to get HEAT and use it instead of Phoenix, which I love the way it sounds BTW?

Thanks,

Mr A

Phoenix is great plugin. I wonder that too.

HEAT can get crunchier than Phoenix if you push it and it's adjustable by degrees in that way. It's also about the implementation of it being built into the mixer as opposed to being a per track plugin that creates s different workflow. That all, of course, comes down to personal preferences. I like the adjustably, the implementation and the sound of HEAT but that's just me. There is, of course, no substitute for trying it out yourself by simply demoing it, which is easy enough to do. I was convinced but others may feel differently.

Agree, you can get even crunchier results with HEAT but the fact it is not a plugin is both good and bad. Even if you deactivate HEAT on some tracks it will still use TDM resources and if you are running 80-90 tracks there will be many DSP´s for the HEAT "plugin". Can someone give some numbers?

I have Phoenix so for the moment I will wait to buy HEAT until there will be some news on the TDM future. Only running HD2 PCIe here and then I can´t afford to have HEAT on all channels, but the sound is great.

I wondered the same thing and after trying them out, I had to get both.
They're different flavors and though HEAT is more integrated, you can use Phoenix on Instrument and AUX Tracks.

True, but if you want to have HEAT on your instrument and aux tracks, even though what us being sent to the aux's already has HEAT on it, you can buss these tracks to an audio track and leave it in input.
