Default Tiger over Leopard MacPro issues

The Macpro I bought had a factory version of Leopard installed. Did a clean install of Tiger over it t run PT 7.4.
Been trying to get my Magma PCI chassis w/new Macpro up and running for two days.
Could not get the 192 hardware to be seen no matter what card order.
I them reinstalled Leopard on a new drive and it boots and finds the 192 hardware and runs PT fine?

Is there any issues when you install Tiger over a Leopard machine?

The Tiger version was 10.4.10?

Sorry about being off topic but I just got an 8core MacPro and I am trying to install OS 10.4.7 from a friends MacIntel installer disc but I am a getting a dialog box that says"can't install this software". It's from a MacPro that is 6 months old. What am I doing wrong and how did you do the clean install of Tiger? Thanks and sorry for not adding info to the thread.

I think you need the actual non-machine-specific Tiger Install discs. The installer discs that Apple sends out with each new Mac are very specific to each model - it's their attempt to keep us buying OS upgrades. So... it's most likely that. Good Luck!

I went through this all recently. I was told that there was NO Intel version of Tiger sold as a "retail" version. It ONLY existed as an included installer (grey discs). Here's a list of the version and builds of all included installers that I got from my Apple rep. You're best bet is to find (good luck here) the closest match to your machine and run "erase and Install". I've got two MacPros running fine with this method of Tiger "downgrade".

Good luck
