Default Waves Clarity V14 Slow Bounce To Disk

Prior to upgrading Waves Clarity Pro to V14, offline bounces were a bit slower than usual when any number of instances of Clarity were used real-time.

With V14 (now running Native) on Apple Silicon, I can run more instances, but with even one instance inserted, it doubles my offline bounce time?

Thoughts?

Maybe best to commit the plugin prior to offline bouncing.

It's so processor hungry.
It's not even supported on Waves own Soundgrid.
I've taken to audio suite only.

They just updated it a couple of days ago with a new lower-CPU algorithm. Haven’t tried it yet.

On a recent show I found I had to push the buffer up to 1024 to reliably use it. Overall worth it though, the time saved was extraordinary.

Are you speaking of the ECO for dialogue setting?

I have no issues with it doing it’s job during the offline bounce, but only that it causes the offline bounce to slow down to about x3.7 on offline bounces. Running a Mac Studio Max M1 32gb machine.

I have never used the commit function. I will read up on that. Is it destructive? I am running a Mac Studio Max M1 32gb, so power is not an issue. Typically I am using it on the dialogue buss. So committing is not really an option, unless I run several instances on the dialogue tracks themselves. I can run about 6 instances with the V14 release of Pro, without issue.

A new version 14.11 of Clarity was released yesterday.

Upgrade in Waves Central

Yes, that was the V14 version I was speaking of, that is slowing down offline bounces. That having been said, upping the buffer and also setting the visual display of the neural engine (to none) on the actual pluggin will speed things up a bit.
