Default simple reconforming software?

We aren't doing anything overly complex just basic documentary style. Can anyone recommend a simple reconforming package or workflow?

Thanks
Scott

The Matchbox - very simple and powerful. Not cheap though.

There's also EdiLoad which contains a handful of other tools, including the option to create a picture cut or scene change track, and assemble your location WAVs.

Matchbox has been a game changer for me. Try the demo. Conforming shows that would take me 4-5 hours now take 30 minutes or less. If you have any questions or would like for me to walk you through my workflow I would be happy to discuss it with you.

It's crazy how much I use Matchbox.

Just sayin'

Occasionally they do sales, so you might wait a couple days and see if they're doing a black-friday.

FYI,

This is the only time Matchbox is on sale. You'll have to wait a year before it goes on sale again.

I see you guys are huge fans of Matchbox - and I just purchased it to conform a show - however I'm having the hardest time getting it to link anything! I drag in the editors AAF (and he cut using a production track only) - but the live event recordist captured a show with 64 tracks that lasted 6 hours, and I was hoping to line up all 64 tracks (2 of which are the production tracks the editor was working with) and have them match his edit. Well, not only can't I get it matching the 64 tracks, I can't get 2! I import his AAF in the "Old" section, and the audio tracks (unedited) in the "New" section, and run a search for any audio. I get nothing. Any thoughts?

From what I know Matchbox is designed amongst other things to re-cut a Pro Tools session for picture changes. It sounds like you wish to either assemble original location WAV files or re-cut in a Pro Tools session that contains these WAV files spotted to their timecodes, but using the audio edits from a picture edit. In case Matchbox isn't able to do this you may wish to check out EdiLoad. It can assemble location WAVs using the new assembly window or re-cut a PT session using the audio edits in an edit list (AAF, XML or EDL).

Best regards,

Mark
