Default drawing and editing automation - a question

I often use automation to draw volume edits for the purpose of evening out audio levels. Sometimes I cue in on particular words and phrases.

When I fine tune these edits using the trim tool a slope is created at the beginning and end of said edit. I do not want this. Is there some way of using the trim tool to edit automation events without adding the slopes on either side of the edit?

Hmm...good question(which I don't have an answer for) but have you considered using Clip Gain, instead of automation?

Do you mean a rectangular slope and want a less then 90°-slope ?
Can you post a screenshot of the unwanted slope ?

Just display 'volume trim' instead of volume and trim that.

best,

Depending on the slope/problem, alt-dragging or cutting selections of/around breakpoints could be another way to do it.
