Default Two plugins on screen at the same time?

Is there a way to display two plugin windows open on screen at the same time (they're not assigned to a track, just open so I can apply each as needed to some little timeline segments)? For example to have Waves L3 and Waves Q10 EQ up at the same time on screen? Again, they aren't assigned to a track, just to have both open so I can apply to a few places. I have to keep opening them one at a time.

I'm guessing when you try to open the second plugin it always takes over screen where the first one was open.

Thanks.

Hmmmmmm if I understand your question, try Option + Clicking on plugin that is not open on screen.

You can have as many plugins on screen at the same time as you have screen real estate... that's if I understand your question.

Do you mean Audiosuite plug-ins, if yes than the answer is no, only one Audiosuite at a time. But you can create shortcuts (ctrl-Z for Q10, ctrl-X for L3) in the Keyboard shortcut tab of the Keyboard and Mouse Preferences (in the System Preferences, not ProTools preferences).

Shift-click on the second plugin.

Pretty much common sense, like a lot of functions in Pro Tools.

Edit: if AudioSuite, I think no way to do it. Never tried..

Yes either hold shift when opening a plugin and it will remain open or when open you just click on the little red square top right and it will remain open till manually closed or closed whilst holding shift again.

theres the red target button on the top right of each plug that does just this.
