Quick question regarding pre-roll punch

Just in case the option is avaliable

Anyway to be able to play over the track during pre-roll before the punch?

The recording instrument is muted until the punch section- if there is a way to be able to hear both the track and recording instrument during pre-roll can someone show me how to accomplish this?

If not, just tell me you're screwed dude, sorta like when I bought all that extra Ram before knowing that PT was only a 32 bit app and all that extra Ram that I bought was a waste of money..

That's the way it works. Track plays back until it enters record. Pretty sure this has been the norm, all the way back to the days of tape

Option/Alt+K to toggle between Auto input and Input only monitoring. You now have it set to Auto input monitoring (PT 10 has this feature, right, it's not just HD or CPT?).

Anyway, you can't hear both on the same track, regardless of monitoring/recording mode. To accomplish that, duplicate the track, and alternate between the two as you work your way through the song.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but it directly relates to a post I just made. Is it still correct that in Pro Tools 11.2.1 HD that you cannot listen to the preroll audio and input audio at the same time during a punch in without using two tracks? Nuendo can do it just fine, why is this not possible in Pro Tools?
