Cant use Score Editor????
Trying to use Score editor with a Guitar track....Using Eleven...it's a audio track. Score editor will not open and its greyed out...Right clicking on track will not show option for Score editor......Its work ed before...used it with Grand mini and other projects, however this is the first time using it after the update in Feb.
Macbook Pro 2.33 ghz 4gigsram, Protools 8.0.cs2 or whatever the most current update is, Digi003 factory, Glyph 350... I watched Lyndas tutorals and followed to the tee but Score editor will not open |

Re: Cant use Score Editor????
I haven't had a chance to mess around with score editor but I don't see how you could possibly used score editor with an audio track.
It works with Grand mini because that's an instrument/midi track and the midi notes are converted to a score. Or I could be speaking about something I have no idea about!

Re: Cant use Score Editor????
I'm also pretty sure the score editor only works with MIDI info. There's no way for it to convert audio to the score.

Re: Cant use Score Editor????
Thanks for the reply, I was scared of that....again thanks for the reply. I wonder if I could bus the audio to a midi track, and then use Score edit...

Re: Cant use Score Editor????
Midi is only instructions (play this note, at this time, for this long... etc) It is not audio. It is only useful for making some other device produce audio
It is not as simple as bussing, but there are 2 things I know of that might work.. You need some kind of program that will analyze the audio and produce MIDI data from that.. Celemony Melodyne does this in the full version ($500 I think). I have no idea how well it works, but they supposedly have technology that can figure out the individual notes in guitar chords.. Steve Massey makes great plugins for ProTools and if you buy one of them, you get his DTM software for free. It is designed to work with drums, so for guitar it might not be of much use, other than timing info.. Not sure.. http://www.masseyplugins.com/?page=dtm Once you have a MIDI track the score editor should work...
