Avril "Girlfriend" Backwards Vocal Efx??? How 2 do it???

That Backwards Vocal Efx- Like In Avril's "Girlfriend" Song.

Does anyone know and easy way to do this in Pro Tools? Been wanting to do this on alot of songs but, never get good info on how to do it cleanly, and clearly like on that Avril song.

Just use the Audiosuite "Reverse" plug-in that comes with Pro Tools. Works great.

Some effects and reverb plugins have some reverse reverb effects that can work quite well!

Thanx but, huh??? I don't understand. Are you saying it's just a reverse vocal? Some say it's a reverb that's backwards. Could you guys break it down like how you do it and what reverb if any is used?

I haven't analyzed the vocal but one method of reverse reverb could be:
1. Take the word or phrase and reverse it.
2. AS reverb to the reversed signal.
3. Reverse the effected signal and mix it to the original signal.

1) Take the region (word) you want this effect on.

2) Reverse it (AudioSuite plugin called "Reverse").

3) Select the reversed region + the expected amount of reverb decay in the track.

4) Use D-Verb as and AudioSuite plugin, and apply it to the selection. No pre-delay. I highly encourage experimenting with the reverb settings.

5) Now reverse this new region.

6) This is one of those things that's fun, fun, fun.
