Default Automation Shelf

Forgive me if this has already been sufficiently complained about, I can't find it anyplace:

Here's the situation:

1. I have a a region with some automation such as this.

2. If I extend the region and then add a fade (with f or g) I get this.

3. If I extend the region with the fade potion of the super tool and I get this.

Is this a bug or a feature? I can't think of anything useful about the super tool behavior.

Or perhaps is it a pref that I am missing?

Note: Screen shots are of 7.x, but this happens through 8cs3

Welcome to the club

This has been bugging me for months if not years. It not only happens with volume but also other automation data.

Read that thread for more info but AFAIK it hasn´t been fixed yet.

Frank.

Ah yes there's the thread... thanks for the info/confirmation Frank!

Maybe it'll be fixed in ProTools 9(cs1,457)

+1

OT - it also bugs me that when you want the automation to be "accurate" it never is (too sluggish), and then when you think a hard automation move will react too slowly to make a click, IT CLICKS!
