Woodcrest Macs
I did a search on here but did not find enough info.
I'm looking at a used Mac with "Woodcrest Processors" 2 dual core 2Gig xeon woodcrest processors 2 gig ram 7300 GT video card This will be for a Protools 8 HD system using 2 PCI-e cards recording 48 - 64 inputs at one time. used with D-show profile. anyone have some advice. I really appreciate it. I'm just trying not to spend money unwisely, especially since it's not my money. thanks so much, Rob Warren |

Re: Woodcrest Macs
Hi Rob
You are refering to the first MacPro Generation probably We have (2) 2.66 MacPros (HD1) (HD2) MacOsx 10.5.5 PT 7.4.2...running well with the usual hicups.. The only problem that i am having is with their USB Ports,Hubs or repeaters have troubled me a lot(on both OSX 10.4 and 10.5),so i ended using USB to Cat5 extenders and for the time being all is well. Btw Digi approves them(MacPro except the early 09 models) for use with PT 8 http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?...d=100&eid=6747 |
