Default Easy way to use Apple Instruments-Loops-Jam Packs

Easy way to use Apple Instruments-Loops-Jam Packs

Hi, I have GarageBand loaded up with tons of sounds and want to use them in Pro Tools. What is the easiest way to use and play the instruments and loops or can they even be used as such in Pro Tools?

Many thanks,
Forrest

I would certainly like Pro Tools to support this. At the moment I compose those things in Logic and export them to Pro Tools after that.

Hi Stiff, thanks for the note. I guess there is no easy way. Many folks have viewed this and no comments and I sent an email to Digi tech asking about this and again no comment. I guess if it can't be done readily, I'd just like to be told straight up not ignored because it is not a mainstream issue just something that would be cool. I was hoping someone would say something like so and so has an RTAS instrument plugin that reads all those sounds and loops. I guess no one here knows about one, but it has to exist somewhere, maybe just in my head where everything is perfect.

Cheers

I think you can import apple loops into plugsound pro; http://www.ultimatesoundbank.com/plugsoundpro.html. Not sure if this is what you are looking for. Perhaps Digidesign's Structure VI will as well, but I haven't seen a full spec on it yet.

Indeed it does! Seems like we'll have to check that one out. Not sure about how it works with the instruments though. I'll see if I can find a demo or something.

Well since I own (PSP) and run a MAC and therefore GarageBand, perhaps I can do some experimenting this evening (damn day job gets in the way sometimes!)...

Although, USB (the vendor) has their own line of sample collections so perhaps by design PSP will not import instruments. But... worth a try.

Loops are a smap, just drag them into a folder called User Loops and PSP sees them and plays them either automatically or by trigger. I haven't tried any instruments as of yet.
