Default entering sales codes to masters for CD/download

Hello,

Thought someone here might help and have knowledge about this.

We are making our own club records/mixes and they will be sold on CD and download and i've been asked about entering sales codes when mastering the songs! we master with Ozone in pro tools, just to get the tracks as loud as possible and do some EQ etc, but we have no knowledge of adding codes etc! we have bounced as MP3's and added song names, artist names etc, and we have used Toast with Jam and Jam can be used to enter PQ codes which we know a little about, but nothing about entering sales codes!

Any help appreciated

DJ

Do some Google searches for “UPC codes” and “ISRC codes.”

IHTH.

Hi Andre, thanks for the pointer! i'm still a bit confused as these songs will be going to digital purchase downloads, and i can't see any way in the MP3 option to ad these codes? even changing the tag type to ID v1 from V2.3 and there's only fields for entering artist/title/album/comment/genre/track number

I can use Jam ok and that makes sense.
So how would you ad these codes if your not burning a physical CD?
we were also planning to have full quality Aiff's for download!

In Jam's 'disc' menu; select 'disc settings'
That is where you can enter the UPC code

Hi, Thanks for your input, i know how to enter codes in Jam ok, the problem i'm having is how to enter the ISRC to audio files that are NOT being burned onto CD, MP3 files that we are going to sell as digital downloads (and also Aiff files). i thought i would be able to enter these codes during the MP3 bounce option? but there's no facility to do so.

So do you burn the audio files in Jam as a CD just to embed the codes? there must be a better way, especially for MP3's.

Aha! I see what you are after. Yes, the right most column in Jam allows you to put the individual ISRC codes per track. There are a few programs out there for embedding the ISRC and other metadata. I don't know of any specific for mp3 or that are any faster....
