eh, either they moved it or your link is gone. Also have you notice the name of the blog you were taking the link of?

I guess this is what you were talking about.

what does this have to do with PT12?? Shouldn't this be in the "General Discussion" area??

Groups and FX chains are two of the features that would be very useful in PT.

It was interesting when he posted that. I 'was' considering signing up to support his efforts but since he seemed to be moving on I did not.

But I have noticed he's been a little quieter about trashing PT and is back to posting "how to use" videos again exclusively in PT.

I appreciate his opinion, but I think he'll back pedal over time.

Just my 2 cents.

Edit - Sorry. Just noticed the article is in their "Studio One" site and not PT Expert. - Another revenue source for them.

Russ may have gotten a little quieter on trashing PT and Avid but he's probably said all he cares to say about the subject and his energy is better spent doing other things that don't get his blood pressure up.

I agree there's some functions what I would like to have in Pro Tools, but let's be honest, even an average user can make a list like that name why I love mixing in Pro Tools. Each DAW has its strength and weaknesses. It doesn't necessarily make any of the others better. Maybe better to some, or for some certain workflow.

At the same time you don't want the tools to stand in the way of working. Let's face it - there are some maddening ways PT's current implementation can make things difficult at best. Sometimes it's better to move to move on to another tool. It's like bailing out a boat - given a choice of bailing it out with a teacup or moving to a boat that's isn't leaking and sinking - which would you choose? Even if the boat needing bailing has been in the family for years?

well i use them both. been using studio one for a couple of years and just started with PT... but i can say from my viewpoint... one is NOT better than the other. S1 has it's strengths and PT has it's strengths.

i think russ got caught up in the 'newness' of it all. but really what does it matter what someone else prefers? they are only tools. heck i still use my first DAW FL Studio because i like the step sequencer in it. if i need to build a midi part with mouse and editor... i always go there first. it is just what i am used to. cheers
