DV Toolkit 2 + Full Screen
Hi - Wanting to make the switch from ABleton Live (majorly buggy with video) to using Protools 7.x, 002R and a Mac Book Pro for some live sequencing with full screen video.
I am going to buy DV Toolkit2 so I can have multiple videos on the timeline - but - Does it support any sort of full-screening a video on a seperate display? I need to get rid of that annoying white bar at the top of the video viewer window for our live projections. Currently My version of LE will won't full screen a video or allow resizing or anything. Thanks!!!! Erik Braund.

Re: DV Toolkit 2 + Full Screen
Hi Erik,
I'm pretty sure that it's a graphics card issue, not a DV Toolkit 2 issue. Does the card in your MacBook have an additional S-Video output? best, Joe |

Re: DV Toolkit 2 + Full Screen
On our Video monitor (CRT) the overscanning hides the White bar but on an LCD or Plasma this might not be the case. To answer your question there is no "proper full screen" mode where the bar is hidden.

Re: DV Toolkit 2 + Full Screen
If you are using a PC, then you can set your gfx card to pick up video streams and maximize it to a second video screen. Works great for me. It is not DV toolkit that gives me full screen. That is done by the gfx card.
My setup: (nerd-alert) I have two gfx cards. One is used for ordinary graphics on two computer monitors. The other is for video. I use both outputs on this gfx card also. One outputs ordinary composite video which is split between my plasma screen and the tv in our speaker box. The other is also connected to my plasma screen (via DVI-HDMI). I drag the video-window over to the first video (composite) screen. The gfx-card picks up the video stream and outputs it full screen to the DVI output. This gives me a beautiful image, and I can drag the time code ruler into the composite screen for the voice artists to use. (I switch between the inputs on the TV to see both inputs) This setup will also work with HD picture. Yay! I'm future-proof ;-)

Re: DV Toolkit 2 + Full Screen
Regardless of the gfx card, Pro Tools 7.3 (maybe even 7.2) allows you to right click on the video and select "Fit Screen" Resolution doesn't get better of course, but it adjusts to fit you monitor.
Wouldn't that solve your issue or am I misunderstanding something? |
