Default PT9HD ilok asset / Complete Production Toolkit

DTS it would be nice for you to come into this thread b/c to be honest what everyone else will say won't matter b/c the final word is comming from AVID.

I want to know what the deal is with this....I own PT9HD ilok asset...and it is seperate on my ilok account.

Then I have a seperate ilok asset listed as Complete Production Toolkit.

I was under the impression that these were one in the same......

Which was if no HD hardware then this would default to CPTK functionality, but I didn't believe that they were seperate ilok asset's

----Thanks for your input.

If you have an HD 9 Ilok license, you can use it on any computer that has PT9 installed (with or without interfaces) and it will open up all the features as if it was the Complete Toolkit. I think I mentioned this before, that you can test this, by moving your Complete Toolkit license to a different Ilok that you don't plug in. I know it works this way, but it might be good for you to test it for yourself.

Okay so they are different ilok assets on your account as well.

Good idea I think I will try that as well, I had just assumed that they would be bundled or part of the same ilok asset.

What extra functionality does it give me? Probably in the manual I have to look it up later thanks

In my case, I had sold my CPTK license a while back, and then bought HD Native, which came with HD software. But I've been using the software by itself on my Imac without the HD Native card hooked up. I used it with a 003, and some other interfaces, and it works just like having the CPTK license, in that all the extra tracks/features/surround functions, etc., are all there.

Now I'm on HD10 and have the same features.
