Default Aphex aural exciter

I am using pro tools 5.0.1 LE with a mac G4 450 processor 192 ram. What I do after the mix in a 24 bit session is, bounce with the dither plug-in (split stereo 16 bit) then create a new session for the stereo tracks. I import them and use the normalize plug-in and bounce again (single stereo file.) Then I drag into Jam. My question is what can I do to bring out a little more crispness to the audio in the CD I burn in jam? I have been doing some reading about the Aphex aural exciter and I wander if this will do the trick? A couple of more questions I have are 1)does the Aphex plug-in cause any conflicts. 2)Will it work for me if I insert it in a master fader during the first bounce? 3)does anybody have any better sugestions? Thanks, Rick

I've dramatically helped some less-than-stellar mixes w/ TC MasterX. I hear Waves C4 is good too. I'm not a real fan of the aural exciter.. at least, not applied to the mix as a whole.

Oh yeah, and with TC, you shouldn't really have to normalize afterwards. It makes things pretty loud if you use it right. And if you're using Audiosuite to normalize, you shouldn't have to bounce again after normalizing.. just tell it to overwrite the files.

Thanks Craig, where can I read more on the TC masterX? Also what is the process to avoid the 2nd bounce and overwrite the files? Thanks for the response, Rick

In the Audiosuite menu, there's an option that might say "create continuous files" or "create individual files", or "overwrite files". In any case, the audiosuite plugin will create new files that are normalized, and you don't have to re-bounce them. They're already there!
As for TC, check out their website.. tcelectronics.com I think. It's a bit pricey, but it rocks.
