Wink Is PRO TOOLS 8 really 4 gigs in size?

Is PRO TOOLS 8 four gigs in size? ALSO... Is it worth the upgrade or should People wait?... Just wondering your opinions... I think it is!

My background is IT and I would say the approach is the same.... If it ain't broke don't fix it. If your current version is meeting your needs and nothing in 8 you need then wait. Let others live on the bleeding edge while the kinks get worked out.

i purchased the upgrade today, and i was a little trepidatious. but it was totally worth it. its only about a hundred and fifety bucks, and the new plug ins are well worth it. i know that in the world of audio engineering aethetic value means very little , but they also gave it a little sex appeal

And the actual program itself is not 4GB, no. The extra included content is.

Buying PT8 is hardly "bleeding edge" but you should always have a backup plan. Save a drive image or clone your system drive so you can try updates but be able to revert without needing to re-install everything.
