Click the protools icon protools does not load!

I have downloaded all the proper updates i belive. I have a quad G5. M powered worked just fine, then i tryed to load LE and im having. Like i said i click on PTs and it bounces a few times but the program will not load. I have tryed reinstalling, all the updates that i belive were right. This is also with the M-Box 2, not sure if that makes a difference. Thanks for the help.

log out of your profile- log back in and click on the pt icon right away- usually a quick fix

Go to the Digi site and get the prebinding script and the tech support tool. I think your problem needs the prebinding script.

Thanks! I actually tried the prebinding script, and it didn't fix it. I think I have done more damage by trashing some other things while trying to fix this problem. I can't open System Preferences now, my clock has disappeared, and the blue finder icon in the upper right corner next to the clock is flashing.

I'm downloading the OSX Combo 10.4.10 update to see if I can fix the OS problems, then I'll try running the prebinding script again. I downloaded some updates earlier today, and that's what started the whole problem. I figure I can't make it any worse by downloading this update...

Any clue how to fix the OS problem if the update doesn't work?

10.4.10 has known issues and PT incompatibility.

Try a google search. I don't want to make you go through any unnecessary steps. Maybe someone has a good list of steps.

I think you need to boot from an earlier version install disk and reinstall from there, but maybe someone has an easier/better method for you.

If I do that will I lose Pro Tools and the plugins I have installed?

I think you can choose a clean install versus one that should preserve apps etc., but you should be prepared for the worst.
