Demo versions for LE7 Upgrade plus plugins????

I got the upgrade plus and want to try out the plugins before I decide. I open pro tools, got to the screen where it asks for plug-in authorization and chose web authorization, and the window comes up saying the server is being contacted. Then nothing happens. I waited for about 40 minutes. I do have a dial-up modem, so that could be the issue, but has anyone else had this problem? Is there another way to try out the plugins before I decide which ones I want?
