I'm all for it. ProTools is getting so behind when it comes to music creation features....

This has no business in Pro Tools. There are already dozens of programs dedicated to do this sort of thing, and do it much better!

This just feels like dumbing down the new features to appeal to GarageBand-level casual users.

Please AVID, focus on the "Pro" in Pro Tools!

This makes me very worried about the future of Pro Tools once its in the hands of the private equity folks.

Protools isn't a music creation tool.

It's an audio recording tool.

On the page, it says 'for thirty years protools windows have remained unchanged.' Am I the only one that sees this as a positive?

I understand some people like this loop-based drag-and-drop creation thing, but the reason I use PT is because it can act like a tape machine.

Hopefully the old windows/functionality are not being phased out for a loop based iPhone type of program.

Damned if they do, damned if they don't...

There's no reason why Avid can't keep improving core features of Pro Tools that appeal to old timers while adding new interesting capabilities for those who don't only want a digital "tape machine"...

Besides, asking the Dev team to only maintain/re-factor old code, fix bugs, and add a minor feature here and there is a sure way to loose your top developers.

Hahahahahahahahaahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I mean don't get me wrong I'm all for these sorts of innovations (read: copying the competition). But it's gonna take me a LOT to convince me it'll be rock solid in any live situation, especially given the, erm, "delicate" nature of how it handles VIs. They *still* haven't fixed the "Instrument track sometimes loses connection to VI MIDI" which must be a bug that's over 10 years old now.

Every PT system I have ever set up is rock solid after you get your session going. If the MIDI bug appears, it is a quick fix and surely does not lose assignments while the session is open.

Reliability of PT is on a level I am doing FOH mixes with it, while recording the gig.

I'm all for the idea of new features, and I'll give this one a chance to flourish. I've tried it in Logic, DP, and Ableton and it's not for me... but neither are Atmos, Field Recorder Workflows, or Avid's Channel Strip. *shrug* Doubtlessly I would have a better reaction if it was introduced at the same time as the next PT release, and if that PT release meaningfully improve(s/d?) the existing MIDI/VI workflow in ways that have been asked of it.

If PT 2023.9 drops within the next month and fixes the MIDI editing/assignment glitches, adds Note Names to the MIDI Editor, maybe tries to implement Articulation Maps in some way... so that I can more efficiently and effectively create music the way I like to, then this Sketch/Live Loops/DP feature is more than welcome to sit on my drive.

To be fair, I owned Melodyne Studio for years, but I never used it with regularity until it was integrated into PT. That was a nice surprise.

Avid Channel Strip sounds great, but I also dislike its interface. Best example is ReVibe, which seemed so intuitive with the old skin but I have never got the instant good vibes using the new black interface.

Any idea when it's going to release? I'm about to set up a new PC and would already install it with the newest version.
