Default waves plug ins dont show up on pro tools 7.4.2

Hi all,

I know this is not a new complaint but it's driving me nuts!. I'm running mac g5 quad with os x 10.5.8. Running pro tools le 7.4.2 with digi 003. installed waves 7 and ran waves au reg utility just fine. opened pro tools - the dialogue box opened asking where the plugs are so i point to the waves plug ins folder. then pro tools opens - no waves plugs!!
I read somewhere you need to remove all remnants of pt 7 before you update to 7.4.2. Not sure about that but thought i'd just check..

Any help would be very muxh appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
