Default Plug-in\'s will not process to show wave form

Hello!

Operating here with ProTool LE 7.0 M Box on Mac OS X (G-5 IBM) for two years; the following problem just occured with all plug-in's in Audio Suite, only on select sessions. The session in this example was a duplicate of a previous session (command-D, renamed, then it's contents were trashed to begin a new session. Original session was still present on the same hard drive). Description of problem:

Plug-In's do not "process" properly, although they work fine on "insert": PT cannot render wave form in process mode. Although the wave form IS actually processed, PT show just a block (just as if "block" were selected in Track View Selector);

(Pulling affected file from the bin reveals the same thing, naturally);

Noticed workspace keeps trying to link up files, apparently to render them instead of showing the block that is there;

Noticed that "use in playlist" in plug-in window (like time compression) is not automatically highlighted, when normally it is; must highlight it manually to make plug-in work (but the resulting processed file, of course, is still in "block" form);

When quitting session, PT is still trying to show wave form, per workspace ("relinking" and "calculating overview" are active), and must click the window "yes" to quit session, sometimes twice;

Upon relaunch of session, PT asks to find files automatically and is successful at finding them.

Any ideas as to what is wrong, please? Reinstallation of all plug-in's may not be the answer since this occurs only on select sessions. Also, the same thing occurs on my second, identical, system which has it's seperate M Box (Mac Mini, IBM).

Thanks for any tips, and it would be interesting in knowing if anyone else has had this quirk occur.
