SampleTank Drum Samples: No standard for note allocation
I'm going kinda nuts here. I use SampleTank, which comes with a bunch of drum kits. For all of those, the kick, snare and hat are always on the same notes (like C1 for kick..). If you get the free Anthony Mason sample on the IK site, then it's different. Finally, I bought the Acoustic Drums sample for esSoundZ, and it's yet another allocation.
So this really sucks, because you simply can't have a simple 4/4 MIDI drum track and quickly try a bunch of drum kits, because from one provider to another, the drum components are assigned to different notes. So you have to keep transposing and moving notes around. This seems like a major pain, or is it just me? Is there a workaround? Also, how come sellers of samples don't at least document their samples, especially for drums, so you can read a mapping, and transpose more quickly?
