You haven't identified your OS. You haven't specified that MIDI thru is actually enabled in Pro Tools and not on the UM-1G. You haven't specified your routing and whether you can see the interface as a MIDI input and output. You haven't specified whether or not your MIDI device is even enabled for use in Pro Tools.
These things don't automagically occur. Don't be surprised that everyone is not jumping for the opportunity to walk you through this from scratch. Spend time in the setup and options menus. Also research MIDI routing and the differences between MIDI and instrument tracks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: midi keyboard isnt syncing with protools mbox mini le 8
Im using windows 7 my drivers for the UM-1G were installed correctly midi is enabled on protools and not the UM-1G. Midi input is enabled, midi beat clock is enabled. My device comes up on the input and output port on midi studio setup. Ive adjusted settings and looked at numerous videos. I keep getting a message "The original MIDI device associated with the midi controller M-audio keyboard could not be located. Please choose an existing midi device in the midi controller section of the peripherals dialog" I dont have a m-audio keyboard i have yamaha when i go to my peripherals window and click midi controllers then hit TYPE it list HUI,MotorMix,M audio keyboard. The only one that would let me select my device to receive and send was m-audio keyboard. I've adjusted synchronization in the peripherals menu and no matter what i select my keyboard wont play or record via protools.

Ok, that gives me something to work with. You keep getting the message because you declared a controller but that is not what you have. You do not need to setup anything in the peripherals menu, and you only need to enable MIDI beat clock if you plan to sync arrangements on both PT and your keyboard.
Does the MIDI in light flash on the UD-1G when you press the keys on the keyboard? It should. Make sure MIDI thru is off on the interface. Create a new instrument track. Insert a VI in the top plugin slot. Show the instrument view on the PT mixer and check the MIDI routing now shown at the very top of that channel. Make sure the track output down by the fader is routed out your audio outputs for monitoring. Record enable and play. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
