Default \"save session\" bug

A relatively NEW hiccup that has me confused...
when I select "save session" (or Command + S) and then select "close session", I get the prompt - "do you want to save changes?" (if I select "save", then my session closes)
Why do I have to save the session twice? (this didn't use to be the case)
Anybody else experiencing this bug?

thanks in advance

There might be some background processes going on - check your task manager and see if there's any file linking or fade-creating or anything like that happening

I've also noticed this when I upgraded to 7.4, but it only happens on some sessions.
I'm guessing could it be a certain plug-in that's causing this?

checked the task manager - no tasks running.

So the problem remains..... when I select "save session" in drop down menu (or "command + S") and then I select "close session", I'm asked if I want to save my session - if I click "save" - then the session will close.
very strange

any ideas?????

A session save saves everything about the session, including how windows are arranged, where the transport is, where cursor is, etc... It's likely that some aspect of the session has changed since the last save, so PT is askng if you want to save these changes before closing. I wouldn't consider this a bug, just the way it has always worked.
For example, if you Save, then open Task Manager to see if there are unfinished tasks, then close the session, you will be prompted to Save again, as you have now opened (and possibly closed) a new window, andyour project has now changed from when you last saved it. As far as I can remember, this has always been the case.

thanks for the reply. I realize this is the way PT has "always worked".
this problem occurs when I've done nothing new. Literally:
1) "Command + S" (or "save session")
2) "Close session"
3) I get prompt - "would you like to save session?"

again - If I select "save" at this point - session will close properly.
essentially I have to save the session twice.
curiously - this problem seems to be intermittent. Some sessions will indeed close on the first try.

I agree with dbtop on the cause.
Here's a way to see.
Open one of the sessions you see it on and close it instantly and see if it prompts you.
I remember always dealing with this since 6.xx I always tell it no since that's not how I save my sessions.

Also, using they keyboard command of apple-shift-w to close the session keeps your cursor in the same position, and will likely not ask you to save session again.

tried it - doesn't work either. (btw - I use this "shortcut" all of the time)
as a matter of fact, when this bug first appeared, I thought maybe I was confusing my key commands (I had just started learning Logic at the time)
but no dice......
I've been a PT user for 7 years - can't figure this out.
thanks anyway
